Title: MINI-COURSE LECTURE I - STABLE MINIMAL SURFACES IN 3-MANIFOLDS

Abstract:
I will discuss the topology and geometry of stable minimal surfaces in 3-manifolds under various curvature conditions. I will then go on to discuss rigidity questions for certain area-minimizing minimal surfaces. The course will be accessible to a graduate student with basic familiarity with Riemannian Geometry.
